"What's your name?"
"Jamie."
"Spell it."
"J-A-M-I-E."
"That's my name!"
"Spelled the same way?"
"Yep!"
He glanced sideways really uncomfortably, "That's a little weird."
It was at this moment I chose not to tell him that when I was 16, I had a boyfriend named Jamie.

That's my sister's name too. She hates it when teachers "spell it wrong". I bite my tongue rather than telling her that her name was spelled j-a-i-m-e when she was born, but changed because mom couldn't remember how to spell it. :)
My mother decided when I was 18 I should change the spelling of my name to J-A-Y-M-E. I told her it was a little late for that.
Or worse, I could be J-me like one of her students. I've always wanted a hyphen in my name!
interestingly enough, men don't have my name...
but people spell it wrong all the time.
even my mentor once.
i hate my name
Mmmmm...awkward.
Just call him James. As a nickname.
You could be Jamie-rockstar.
